Introduction to Insulation and Energy Efficiency

The course has been developed to give participants the information, tools, and practical experience in creating warmer, greener, healthier homes.
This course is delivered over 3 full days at the purpose built workshop at Cappataggle, Ballinasloe. The course will be delivered by Mr. Enda Finn of Styroblock Building Services Ltd. Enda has over 20 years of national and international experience in the construction industry. There will be a fee of €350 to cover materials used during the practical workshops.

Participants learn about aspects of energy efficiency in the home, in particular;

• Draughts & Ventilation


• Air-tightness & Insulation


• Windows, Doors, Roofs & Walls
• Specially selected products and their benefits

The above information will be given during the morning of the first day and most of the emphasis will be placed on the practical demonstrations and use of specific products. Every participant on the course will have the opportunity to insulate each part of the house; walls, doors, windows and roofs.


Participants will receive a certificate of completion and an information pack with all the relevant information which they can refer back to after the course has been completed.
